Calen: Hey everyone, I'm Calen here at etrailer and today we're going to take a look at Malone Ski Paddleboard and Kayak Storage Rack.Now this rack is gonna give you an easy way to get all of your outdoor equipment stored without taking up too much space on the floor or the ways.Now if you're anything like me, and you're the outdoorsman type, you like to be very active, sometimes it gets pretty hard to store all of your bigger stuff like your paddleboards and kayaks.This gives you a nice option to vertically store it all; not taking up too much floor space. You can store your other equipment like bikes, or if you're in your garage, you're still going to be able to pull your car inside.Now with this rack, you're going to be able to store two kayaks, two stand-up paddleboards, and six sets of skis, which we have on the backside right now.You don't necessarily have to have it set up in this configuration. You could switch the paddleboards with the kayak. It's really up to you how you want to do it. It's just, in my opinion, we have it set up in the most convenient and organized way.Now our paddleboard holders are going to be connected to our upright arms. Using the included hardware, we're going to have two bolts for each side, with nuts tightening it down. more

This is gonna be a great option for decluttering your garage. It's gonna let you get all of your outdoor equipment off the floor up onto the rack, it's gonna just make everything more accessible and more organized.With this rack you're gonna be able to hold up to two kayaks, three bicycles, and six sets of skis which we have on the back of the rack. It's gonna be a total weight capacity of 250 pounds.Our bikes are held in place by Malone's bike holders. These are gonna be two poles which have a sturdy steel construction with a soft padding on the outside that's gonna help protect the finish of our bikes. You can see that we just have it through the spokes of our wheels, that's how it's being supported. more

Lockrack Watersport Carrier Review- Video
Hey, guys. Today, we're going to be checking out the Lockrack Watersport Carrier. As you can see, I've already got it in place on my vehicle. Now, this carrier is going to allow us to carry a kayak, a canoe, and up to two paddleboards. What's unique about it is that it allows us to carry those things without any hold straps or bow and stern straps. We have these large ratcheting arms that close in around the craft, keeping it and containing it. more

Kuat Class 4 Kayak Carrier Review- Video
Today, we're going to take a look at Kuat's Class 4 Kayak Carrier.Now, this carrier mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle, and it allows you to transport your kayak to and from your destination. If you don't have a truck or anything like that where the kayak is hard to transport, because it can't fit in your vehicle, the carrier's going to come in handy, because it's going to allow you to get the kayak on your roof, and get it from Point A to Point B.Now, a couple of things that set this kayak carrier apart from a lot of others out there is that one, it can lock onto your roof rack. Sometimes, when you leave it unattended, if you're out on the water with your kayak, it's going to be a very nice theft deterrent with these lock cylinders on the quick-mount feet. Also, when the kayak is off, you're going to be able to fold that down and make it more flush with the roof rack.The carrier is going to come included with two straps to tie down your kayak to the carrier and the roof rack. And it's also going to come with two more straps, one for the bow, and one for the stern.One nice feature they added to our bow and stern straps is we're going to have this nice long rubber pad right here. It's going to help protect the finish of our vehicle. more

Kuat J-Style Class 2 Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs Review- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, I'm Colin here at eTrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at Kuat's class two kayak carrier. This is a fix-mounted kayak carrier that mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle, allows you to carry your kayak to and from your destination. It's just a very simple system if you're looking for something that's more entry-level and something that's not gonna have too many gadgets and gizmos, just gonna get your kayak from point A to point B, this will be a great option for you.The carrier is gonna come included with two straps to tie down your kayak to the carrier and the roof rack, and it's also gonna come with two more straps, one for the bow and one for the stern.Both the bow and stern straps are gonna come with this thick rubber pad right here, it's a long strip. It's basically just there so that when you tie it off to your vehicle, wherever the strap makes contact with the paint job of your vehicle, you can put this between the strap and the vehicles to help protect that finish. You're also gonna be able to cut it up and move it around, should the strap be making contact with multiple parts of the vehicle.Now, even though it's a more entry-level kayak carrier, it's still gonna be very stylish and it's gonna be a great option to get the kayak on your roof to create more space on the inside of your vehicle for other cargo or passengers, or even some of those vehicles out there may not be able to fit a kayak on the inside, which leaves this to be a great solution.The cam buckles on both of your boat straps are gonna have these nice rubber coatings around the buckle, that's just gonna help protect your boat's finish and your vehicle's finish from any type of scratches or abrasions while you're getting it strapped down. One nice little touch Kuat added was they included these little straps to tie off your excess strap for all four of your straps.Now, this J-hook style kayak carrier is gonna be very user-friendly. more

Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Kayak,Canoe - MPG519- Video
Today, we're taking a look at the Malone Wide Track At Large Kayak and Canoe Cart. This is a very handy option if you're trying to get down to the water by yourself since we'll be able to just rest our boat in the frame here, strap it in place and then wheel it down to the water rather than having to hoist our boat ourselves and try to heft it all the way down or risk dragging across the ground and possibly denting and scratching the hull of our boat. Makes it really easy to transport, just basically turns our canoe or kayak into sort of a wheel barrow. Have our two nice wheels on either side. These are going to be non-pneumatic so they are not inflated tires. They're just a solid construction. more

Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Canoe - MPG112MD- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Malone Big Foot Pro Roof Rack Canoe Carrier with Tie Downs. Now these universal mount gun wale brackets with the padded bases will let you transport a canoe on your roof rack cross bars. It's also great for carrying a ladder, lumber, or any open hull boat. Basically when you install these on your cross bar, you put them across from each other, just like that. Then what you put in there is how you would carry it, sort of like a channel there.Application: This will work on round, square, arrow, elliptical, and most factory cross bars. The padded brackets grip the canoe. more

Rhino Rack Watersport Carriers Review - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Today on our 2015 Subaru Outback we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino Rack Kayak Carrier, part number RR570. The kit includes everything you're going to need, including four saddle mounts, straps, hardware, and tools needed for installation.Now these saddle mounts pivot, which allows you to load and unload the kayak from the side of the vehicle. They also feature a flexible base, which contour to the lines of the kayak. The base is also a rubber material, and that helps prevent any damage or scratches to your kayak. Now the saddle mounts are a clamp on style, which will work with most factory and aftermarket roof rack systems. As you can see here, they're a perfect fit for our Subaru's factory roof rack.And we'll go ahead and remove the straps, so we can take a better look at everything. more

This Thule SUP carrier is going to allow us to transport up the two paddle boards on the roof of our vehicle.What sets this carrier apart from others is that it has an inverted arch design, which cradles our paddle boards, making it more safe and secure compared to a flat style. Two straps come over the top of our pedal boards, holding them in place. They also feature rubber pads. This is going to provide good grip and prevent damage during transport.The straps then run through the carrier and lock, and then the excess strap is stowed underneath. The nice thing about the locking mechanism is it's going to prevent anyone from removing our paddle boards from our carrier. more

This Lock Rack stand up paddle board carrier is gonna make it easier to load up your stand up paddle boards, and it's gonna take away the hassle of having the threads, straps through buckles, and tie everything down as this doesn't need any tie downs of any kind once it's installed.This can carry up to one extra wide stand up paddle board, and it grips at it four points, with two arms on each side. The Lockrack watersport carrier is a versatile carrier that can carry up to one kayak, canoe, or up to two stand up paddle boards, and it has the added bonus of not requiring any tie-downs once it's installed. To hold the kayaks or stand up paddle boards in place, we have these easy to use ratcheting arms, and they have a rubber coating on them to help protect the hulls of both your paddle boards and your kayaks as well.This'll have four points of contact with your kayak, with two arms on each side, and it's also have these nice grips on them to ensure that the kayak doesn't shift back and forth while traveling as well. In some cases, you may have to remove the antenna, like here, because it may make contact with the kayak once it's installed. While this may work different for different vehicles, unfortunately in this case, we can't open the rear hatch because it will make contact with the kayak before it's fully opened.Once everything is installed and tightened down, you notice that you can't pull the arms back out. To do that, it does come with a set of four keys, like you see here, which inserts on the inside like so, and then you turn it, and that's what releases the arm. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lockrack stand-up paddle board carrier for one stand-up paddle board, Part Number 339LRSSUPSETA. This Lockrack watersport carrier enables you to carry up to one stand-up paddle board on the roof of your vehicle. This is a pretty unique carrier too, because unlike most of the other stand-up paddle board carriers out there, this doesn't require any straps of any kind to hold it in place, because of the ratcheting arms that push into place and hold it steady for your trip.Once the ratcheting arms are pushed into place and locked in, that's what's going to keep it from shifting back and forth, and that is why you don't need those extra straps to tie everything down. It is going to make contact at four points with your stand-up paddle board at each of the arms. Also to help protect your stand-up paddle board, is this thick rubberized padding at the base. It's also kind of treaded here, so once you've initially installed, it's not going to shift back and forth while you push the arms in.When loading up your stand-up paddle board, you want to make sure it's no more than 34" wide, and this does have a carrying capacity of 175 pounds. more

This is side loading, and it's part number is 3-3-9-L-R-U-N-I-S-E-T-A. We already have a kayak installed up here. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the biggest features, or biggest differentiators, from the other kayak carriers out there is the fact that, once this is installed, and the racketing arms are pushed into place, it does not require any tie downs, at all. As those can be pretty cumbersome, especially for those taller roofs, where you have to throw the straps on the other side and do it in a specific configuration. more

Right now we have it around square bars, this will also work with round, elliptical and most factory roof racks, but it also has an option to switch this to a channel mount, so it can work with those roof racks with t-slots in them as well. This is a very unique stand up paddle board carrier in that once it's installed it doesn't require any straps, or bow and stern tie-downs, or anything like that once it's installed.It'll grip your stand up paddle board at four points. We're going to have two arms at each side, and they are going to have this nice thick rubber padding to help protect the hull of your stand up paddle board where it makes contact with it. Also, at the base here, we have this rubber padding as well as this extra gripping material so once you initially install this it's not going to shift around or move around while you're pushing these into place. more

This is a pretty unique carrier, in that once everything is installed and pushed in place, you don't need any straps to hold down the stand up paddleboard while you're traveling. Instead, it uses these ratcheting arms with these thick rubber pads to help protect the hull, to hold it in place, and keep it in place while you travel.There is also padding on the underneath here, which is treaded to make sure this won't move around while you're initially installing it. With everything installed as it is, unfortunately we're not able to open up our rear hatch, as it will make contact with our paddleboard, although you're able to open enough to get some space in there. more

The Thule Hull-a-Port XT is a versatile kayak carrier where it enables you to carry not just one kayak on the roof, but with a slight adjustment, you can put another on the other side. And we'll show you how to do that later.In the one kayak configuration, you can see that there's plenty of space to store other accessories on your roof rack system. And even when we have a second one put in place, you would still have enough space for at least one. And a lot of this is because of how the kayaks are set on the roof racks themselves where they're set on their sides to save the most space.Both the bow and stern tie downs as well as the hull tie downs are included with the kit. more

Malone Stand-Up Paddleboard Standard Crossbar Pad Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone standard crossbar pad for stand-up paddleboards, part number MPG315.The Malone standard crossbar pads enable you to carry up to one stand-up paddleboard or surfboard on the roof of your vehicle safely and effectively. Basically, the pads are a foam pad encased in a fade resistant polyester covering, and this is gonna help protect your paddleboard when traveling to make sure there's no scratches or abrasions on it as if you we're just to put it on your roof rack by itself.It comes in a quantity of two pads, but the straps are sold separately. Today we used the Malone straps, which you could find on etrailer.com.The pads measure 30 inches long by four inches wide by two inches tall. Customers on our site compare this to the Inno multi-board standup paddleboard and surfboard pads for crossbars part number INA771. They both come in a quantity of two, but the Inno pads are shorter at 20 inches, versus the Malone's 30 inches.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the crossbar pads, let's go ahead and show you how they install. Malone Foam Block Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone kayak carrier with tie-downs, part number MPG154. This Malone kayak carrier enables you to carry up to one kayak on your roof and has the added benefit of working with both roof rack systems or naked roofs This comes supplied with one tie-down to secure it to your roof, and the strap does come with material underneath the buckle to ensure that the whole of your kayak will not have any scratches or abrasions on it once tightened down. And it also comes with balance stern tie-downs as well.The kayak sits on these EVA foam cell constructed blocks, and this will also protect your hull from scratches or abrasions once setting them on top of them. Right now we have the foam pads wrapped around our aero style cross bars, but these will also fit square, round, elliptical, and most factory roof racks as well. If you don't have a roof rack, it does come with this protective material on the bottom side of it, and this is to ensure the roof of your vehicle doesn't have any scratches or abrasions on it either once being installed.Obviously when you have your balance stern tie downs, you're not gonna be able to open up your hatch, but before you install them, or after you get to your location, I do want to point out that in this particular case, our hatch will make contact with our kayak, so just keep that in mind when you're loading things in and the length of your kayak once you're opening your hatch. more

Malone Deluxe Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier with Tie-Downs Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone deluxe stand-up paddleboard carrier with tie-downs. This is the foam block style. Part# MPG171. The Malone deluxe stand-up paddleboard carrier enables you to carry up to two stand-up paddleboards on the roof of your vehicle, whether you have a roof rack installed or a naked roof. It comes with two smaller spacer blocks so when you have two stand-up paddleboards they won't get any scratches or abrasions from rubbing together. It does come with the two tie-downs necessary to secure this to your vehicle, and the tie-downs do have this material under the buckle here, again to protect your boards from any scratches or abrasions.In this particular configuration we didn't have to remove our antenna for our vehicle, however, if we we're to try to open up our hatch, due to the length of the paddleboard, we are going to make contact with it. more

Rola J-Rac Kayak Carrier Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rola J-Rac kayak carrier with tie downs. This a J style carrier with fixed arms and a clamp on design. Part number is 59912. As you can see, the J-Rac's going to be a really solid solution for getting your kayak where you need it the most, whether that's the river, campsite, lake, wherever you're going. It allows us to transport that kayak, but as you can see, if you look around the backside, you're still going to have quite a bit of room on your roof rack for those additional items, whether you want to put a roof-top basket, cargo box, or just a couple of bike racks up there.Now, to protect your kayak, both here on the front side and back side of our J hook, we're going to have nice density foam pads. They're not so hard, so they're not going to be useful, but not so soft I feel like that you'll wear through them or anything like that. more

Rola Hull-Hauler Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs Review- Video

Now with this saddle style design of the Hull Hauler, it really allows us to accommodate many different types of kayaks or canoes, whether you're got the wider, thicker fishing style kayaks, even down to the smaller, white water style kayak like we've got here. The only real limiting factor you're gonna have is on the width of your crossbar. So if you have a really wide boat, of course you want to make sure your crossbar's gonna be wide enough. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone C-Wing kayak carrier and stinger load-assist with tie-downs, part number MPG113MD.The Malone C-Wing kayak carrier and stinger load-assist is a wing-style, saddle kayak carrier that enables you to load up to one kayak onto your roof with ease. To use our stinger load-assist, you loosen up the knobs here at the front. Once these are loosened up, you just push it out then you re-tighten the knobs and this will help guide your kayak both on and off to your saddles.With it extracted like this, I also like to show you that it has this integrated V-block here and this is also going to help you align your kayak onto your saddles.One thing to note is when we have it setting on our mount here, you did notice that it did bend quite a bit towards the vehicle. I would like to point out, though, you don't have to worry about your vehicle getting scratched up or anything like that because there is padding on the bottom of this to make sure that doesn't happen.This does come with the loading straps and the bow and stern tie-downs to secure this to your saddles. And, also, the buckles here have this protective material to make sure the whole of your kayak won't get scratched up once you're installing this.Stinger load-assist can extend up to 21 inches back once fully retracted. Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Crossbar Pads for Rounder Square 00:00:02 Crossbars part number Y07414.The Yakima Crossbar Pads enable you to safely carry your standup paddle boards, surfboards, kayaks or canoes on your roof with ease and safely.Lifting up our standup paddle board, you can see that our pads here are a foam pad with a nylon covering on them, and it has an anti-slip vinyl material up on the top here to prevent it from moving side to side once it's placed on.With everything installed, I would like to point out that it does not come with the tie-downs to attach your paddle boards or your boats on top of your vehicle. However, Yakima does provide certain buckles that have padding on them to protect the holes of your watercraft and you can find those on etrailer.com.These are very easy to attach, they simply wrap around your round bars and attach with hook and look fasteners on the underneath. These measure 20 inches long by 3 inches wide by 3 inches tall.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the pads, let's go ahead and show you how they install. Starting on the bottom here, we're going to open up all the hook and loop strips and so they're ready to be set on our roof rack. Go to our round bar, just kind of push it down into place and as we do so, we'll wrap our hook and loop around, making sure it stays into place on we install it. Nice and tight. more
